Potions and Pictures
Dear Friends
I hope you are enjoying the autumn season. This is the first year I’ve gone out and made magical potions from the autumn treasure, and I’m very pleased about that. I’m brewing whisky, vinegar and I cooked up a syrup. It feels really special and important to me to set aside time to forage and cook, and I’ve always wanted to, but this year I actually did! I’ve also been feeling more creative after filling my mind with some good books. I am working on 3 new Skillshare classes at the moment. Some of my readers don’t know how amazing Skillshare is, so I’ve added some info at the end, for those interested.
Autumn Treasure
I heard that Hawthorn Berries and Rosehips and packed full of vitamin C and are good for immunity. I have made 3 different potions, colds and flus stay away!!! The vinegar and whisky will brew for one month, and the syrup is nearly gone as I’ve been drinking a tablespoon every day.
I just finished reading How to Do Nothing by Jenny Odell and there were so many inspiring ideas in there. In the book she quoted David Hockney who said “There is nothing wrong with photography, if you don’t mind the perspective of a paralysed Cyclops.” It got me thinking about how disappointing the photos I take of my life are. They don’t often show my real life, so I wanted to start drawing my life as I see it. Here are 4 recent doodles.
